Character Designs de Inside Out, por Deanna Marsigliese

Vamos falar hoje sobre Deanna Marsigliese. A artista merece destaque por seus trabalhos em dois grandes filmes da Disney-Pixar: Inside Out e The Incredibles 2.  Deanna fez o design de diversos moradores da San Francisco de Inside Out, e mesmo não sendo os personagens principais, captam muito bem a diversidade do local.

Em seu post no Tumblr, Deanna fala sobre a personagem “Meg”, que no filme é a melhor amiga de infância de Riley. Ela conta que não precisou de vários desenhos para chegar a um design final (fato que é bem comum no processo de desenvolvimento de personagens). Neste caso, o primeiro já foi aprovado. Como diz a artista, “when it’s right, it’s right!”.

Além disso, em The Incredibles 2Deanna fez parte da equipe de criação dos figurinos. Em entrevista para o jornal San Francisco Chronicle, (Meet the female squad behind Pixar’s ‘Incredibles 2’ super fashions), na qual são mencionadas Deanna Marsigliese (character design), Bryn Imagire (shading art director), e Fran Kalal (tailoring lead), revelam a grande inspiração que foi a personagem Edna Mode, a estilista do filme.

Inside-Out Characters, by Deanna Marsigliese

Today we’re going to talk about Deanna Marsigliese. The artist deserves attention by her jobs in two big Disney-Pixar movies: Inside Out and The Incredibles 2. Deanna has designed some San Francisco’s residents from Inside Out, and even though they aren’t the main characters, they really capture the diversity of the place.

In her post on Tumblr, Deanna talks about the character “Meg”, who in the movie is Riley’s best childhood friend. She tells that wasn’t needed a lot of drawings to get to one final design (which is very common in the character development process). In that case, the first one was already approved. As the artist says, “when it’s right, it’s right”.

Besides that, in The Incredibles2, Deanna made part of the costume design team. In interview for the newspaper San Francisco Chronicle, (Meet the female squad behind Pixar’s ‘Incredibles2’ super fashions), which was mentioned Deanna Marsigliese (character artist), Bryn Imagire (shading art director) and Fran Kalal (tailoring lead), they reveal how big inspiration was the character Edna Mode, the stylist.
